Standard room with very high price for one night.

We paid € 244,- for one night. I thought that the room would be very luxurious for that price. But to my surprise it was a very standard room with no extra's. Very disapointed! I have stayed in hotels for half this price and had a very beautiful room with extra's (sweets, small wine bottle, little soaps and conditioner,...)

Great location, right in the center!! but the room overall was completely outdated. The photos did not match the room we actually got upon check in. Furniture was very old & worn out. The room overall is just very old, no lighting. The only lighting we got was from the outside. The balcony door had tape on it that wouldn’t allow it to close shut completely. It’s being held by a mini leg stand. The room has 4 lamps and only 2 work! The room is dark as can be. also freezing at night!!! The cold air is coming right through the cheap tape that is ripped up along the door.

I am very disappointed with the NH Hotel brand. From the extremely dirty seats upholstery and carpet, to the point of being disgusting, to the bed with metal that could potentially injure me, and the clogged bathtub, my experience was far from satisfactory. However, the most concerning aspect was the apparent lack of attention to cleanliness and maintenance, both at the hotel level and at the corporate level.

Recently stayed 3 nights for business. I travel regularly to Brussels for work but usually stay in another part of town. However, this time I needed to be close to the Square Brussels Conference center, so I chose the NH. The hotel describes itself as "elegant," but it is most definitely not. It is a tired hotel in need of a complete renovation but getting by on its favorable location -- close to Grand-Place, adjacent to Gare Centrale station, and near the conference center. The few positives from my stay: * Location * Friendly staff * Reasonably quiet -- did not hear any noise from other rooms, although it is inevitable that you will hear some noise from the street given the central location * My room had a good view of the town hall tower at Grand-Place And then the negatives: * A strong and unpleasant (to me) odor in the common areas and hallways and, to a slightly lesser extent, the room itself. It is a non-smoking hotel, but the odor smelled like they had used chemical fragrance sprays to only partially successfully overcome embedded smoke odor in the curtains, carpet, and drywall. For me, it was a sickly sweet, slightly nauseating smell. Fortunately, I spent very little time in the hotel beyond sleeping; otherwise, I could not have dealt with it. * Dark room with inadequate lighting in the evening. Dark curtains, large dark headboard for the bed, carpet with dark stripes, semi-dark wood furniture... dark, dark, dark. No ceiling lights except at entrance area and in bathroom. Small underpowered lights next to the bed and on the desk. * Very scuffed and worn furniture. Stains on chair and ottoman. Desk wobbled. Appearance of some walls suggested moisture damage. Noticeable damage to paint on the inside of the bathroom door. See photos. * Buffet breakfast (adequate, nothing special) served in a windowless basement. I didn't say anything to staff because these were not issues that they could do anything about. The owner needs to invest in a complete interior renovation. In summary, I tolerated the hotel because I spent so little waking time there. I will not return to the NH if I ever need to stay in that part of Brussels again.

Its very central and in a lively area which is good. The bin collection and shouting outside wasn't welcomed early doors. I've stayed in NH hotels before and love the brand but this one needs a needs a lick of paint and a bar would be nice. The room was clean and nice so no complaints there
